Chapter 20

That Night

Nicki walked around her car to her regular spot. She went to the same coffee shop every Tuesday for breakfast with her employees. She was on the phone with her mother as she approached the door and reached out for the handle at the same time as someone else reached for it. She quickly pulled her hand back and looked up into the dark brown of the familiar stranger, who's scolding face turned into a smile that she was very familiar with. He pulled the door open for her and motioned for her to go in, but she just stood in place looking him over. He admired her back before they were interrupted by a white older couple trying to go inside of the shop. She looked back then walked under his arm and hurried to the table to meet with her girls. Lauren kicked the chair back and continued to conversate with the girls as Nicki quietly, unusually, sipped her tea after dunking two cups of honey in it.

"You're quiet today."

"Sorry, I'm just not feeling today."

"Time of month?"

"No, just not feeling well."

"Right, Onika."

"Seriously?"

"Anyways, we got the shipment of Barbz & Kenz shirts this morning. Are you going by the shop today?"

"Yeah, after I visit..."

"Nic, let me talk to you."

He interrupted her and waved over at the girls staring at him. She pushed her lips to the side making eye contact with him before looking back over at the girls, who now had smiles on their faces. She looked sighed then stood up and walked beside him to a booth while texting Lauren.

L: Who is that?
N: An old friend. You guys don't have to wait.
L: You sure?
N: Uh, yeah. I'll be by the shop later.

She watched as the girls got up from the table and out of the shop. She crossed her legs underneath the table and stared down at her nails not knowing what to look at or what to say to him. He grabbed her hands and rubbed them. He leaned over the table and kissed her shaking hands before scooting next to her and leaned close to her ear and whispered.

"I've missed you, long time no see."

"You're the one that left."

She stated leaning back and staring into his eyes that were just as warm as she remembered. He placed his hand on her cheek and rubbed it softly before sighing and scooting back over to his side of the table.

"I heard you have a fiancé."

"Yeah, you know him."

She watched as his jaw clenched and he looked off then back at her. She shrugged a little as the waitress came over with her mug of tea. He reached for her hand again and lifted it up looking over her small engagement ring. She smirked into her cup before looking over at him glaring at ring.

"Jeremy?"

"Yeah, he end up being my collage sweetheart."

"Heard he never finished."

"Checking on him?"

"On you actually."

She smiled a little before her lips turned into a frown as he stood up and dropped her hand. He put a hundred on the table then nodded his head towards the exit for her to follow. She didn't know why, but she followed him to the spot around the building to their old spot. Nicki smiled at the flowers that were on the table and muffins that were covered in a cake container.

Before they both knew it they were laughing and talking about old times until the early evening. She stared at him after his laughter died down and he caught himself staring into her piercing grays. They stared at each other before they both passionately went in for the kiss. He pulled her around the small table and into his lap. She aggressively licked across his teeth before softly tugging onto his bottom lip. He pulled away and looked over her face and over her body.

"I miss you. It's been ten years."

"Did you mean it? What you said before you left?"

"No, none of it. I wanted you then like I want you now."

She quickly stood to her feet and grabbed her purse. She took out a pen and grabbed his receipt and scribbled her address on the back of it. She handed it to him and headed towards her car. He walked the other way towards his truck and met up with her at the drive way exit. She rolled down her window as he did the same.

"I'm going by my shop, I'll meet you at mines in an hour."

"Aight, old times?"

"Old times."

Safaree pulled up outside of her house and sat in the driveway watching her in the window pacing back and forth on her phone. He slowly got out of the car and walked up to the door. He twisted the knob that he knew was unlocked and walked in to her talking to the last person he wanted to hear her talking to. Jeremy. She huffed as she motioned for him to come and sit in the living room of the condo. There was games all over the floor and snacks on the table. He smiled at the deck of Go Fish cards and a hungry hippo game. She walked out of the room and down a hall to finish her conversation with Jeremy.

He looked over the pictures that were now laid on her dinning room table. She looked happy with Jeremy's arms wrapped around her and both of their families in a large family photo frame in front of a church. He picked up a picture of her in a graduation gown with her hair flipped at the ends and Jeremy in a suit holding flowers out to her. He placed it back down on the table once he heard her call his name. He followed her voice to the bedroom that was decorated in a pink comforter and had a single full sized bed in it.

"I'm guessing you and your man don't live together?"

"After we get married, sure."

"Being traditional?"

"His choice."

"Oh."

He replied watching her pull a bag out of her closet with ten DVDs in it. She smiled looking over it. She handed them to him and headed towards her bathroom with a white wash cloth. He sat looking over the movies that they both knew word for word and laughed. Old times. He thought as he crept to the open door bathroom. She stood at the sink washing her face clear of foundation and eye shadow. She blushed into the mirror when she caught him staring, but continued to clean her face.

"You look beautiful without it."

He spoke as he walked up behind her. She stared at him through the mirror before watching his right hand come up to her face. She turned to him and let him do what he started and they shared a passionate kiss. His hands roamed down to her round plump ass and squeezed it tightly as he lifted her off the floor. She wrapped her arms around his neck and placed her hands on the back of his head after pushing his hat off. She held the back of his head as the kiss got even more heated and he dropped them down on to the bed. They both began to remove articles of clothing from the other as he continued to kiss her body all over. She moaned as his lips made contact with her womanhood and his tongue teased her clit. She wrapped her legs around his neck and released her juices on his lips that showed her no mercy.

"Onika, I missed you."

"Safaree... I... Mhhmmmhhmmm."

Was all she could manage before he entered into her and let out a long sigh. He slowly moved in and out of her watching her adjust to his thick and long size. He watched her face go from a painful pout to a pleasurable pout. They stared into each others eyes as he made love to her body and showed her how much he missed her. She pure his face to hers and kissed him as the butterflies in her stomach set off and she felt his warm liquid enter like rushing water. He sighed into her mouth as he went stiff and laid inside of her. She rubbed her hand along side his face and smiled.

"I missed you too."

She said before they before fell asleep wrapped in each other. Knowing that they both were with other people, but felt they belonged to each other.

~~~~~~
Present Day
Nicki and Omaree at the coffee shop tables waiting for Safaree to pull up. He looked towards the black truck pulling up and clapped happily as LJ and Zuri got off the car along with a very pregnant Iris. She smiled as he walked over in his slacks and open shirt and kissed her cheek. He helped her up and she grabbed OJ's hand and they walked into the shop. They both smiled at the familiar place and find their way to their usual booth. OJ scooted in next to his mother and then Zuri then LJ and Iris sat next to their father. Onika and Safaree kept eyeing each other while they caught up with their kids and what was going on in their lives. The vibe was good and chill that early morning Tuesday in the Samuels' Family world. Through all the drama that had made it and raised a tight family. Nothing in that moment could mess up their vibes and positive energy because in the end love was their only trap and it was an unbreakable trap.
[Theeeee End] :p
